Having pulled an all-nighter last week with his coverage of the election for NBC, news anchor Tom Brokaw, 60, is about to reap his reward. On Friday it was announced that he’ll serve as the grand marshal of the 112th Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif., on New Year’s Day. Organizers of the event said that Brokaw is the appropriate choice for a parade with the theme, “Fabric of America,” because of his best-selling book, “The Greatest Generation,” about those Americans who were born in the 1920s, grew up in the Depression and fought in World War II. Now, if only they’ll have a new President by New Year’s.
