Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland was sentenced on Friday to nearly a year in jail for violating probation for a third time in a heroin case. Weiland, 31, has been jailed since Aug. 13 after admitting the violation. In July he was treated at a Southern California hospital for a heroin overdose. Weiland, clad in an orange jail jumpsuit, sat quietly during the sentencing. The singer’s legal troubles began in 1995 when he was arrested for possession of illegal drugs.
