First Lady Michelle Obama heads to Africa with her family on Wednesday – and she’s taking your questions along in her carry-on bag.
Accompanying President Obama on his official tour through Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania, the First Lady, with Sasha and Malia in tow, will have a busy and colorful separate itinerary. She will be meeting with middle school students in Senegal, taking questions from teenagers in Johannesburg, and comparing notes with other First Ladies – including Laura Bush – at a summit in Tanzania, where she’ll also take in a cultural performance by the Baba wa Watoto youth troupe.
And somewhere in there, she’ll answer PEOPLE.com readers’ questions in an exclusive video. Have you always wanted to know what’s in her briefing books for these trips? How she handles the exotic foods? What kind of souvenirs she scoops up in her travels? Whether she’s picked up any languages? What she thinks needs to happen to improve education here and in Africa?
The deadline for getting questions to Mrs. Obama has passed. Check back here next week to see her video answers!
