Jackie Chan could be teaching a whole new generation how to “wax on, wax off.”

Chan is in talks with a movie studio to appear as Mr. Miyagi – originally played by the venerable Pat Morita – in a remake of The Karate Kid.

Mr. Miyagi’s student is expected to be played by Will Smith’s son, Jaden Smith, according to reports in Variety. Ralph Macchio originally played the part in the 1984 classic, in which he famously waxed Mr. Miyagi’s cars and painted his house to train for a karate match.

The plot would be similar to the original except the movie will take place in China instead of California, Variety reports. The movie is expected to start shooting in Beijing this summer.
